Jozsef Baranyi, Hungary

Jozsef Baranyi, member of the Hungarian national team in crossbow field. World champion in 1998 (Hungary), in 2002 (Croatia) and in 2004 (Czech Republic). He gained the silver medal in the world championship in 2006 (Austria). He was European champion in 2001 (Czech Republic) and in 2005 (the Netherlands) and he gained a bronze medal in the European championship in 1997 (Portugal). In 2003 (Belgium, indoor) he gained a bronze medal. He set world records several times, five of which are still valid. As member of the Hungarian national team he gained several medals in the European and world championships. By number of gained titles of world and European champion he is the world's most successful shooter of crossbow field in men's competition (more successful than Baranyi is Branka Pereglin /Croatia/ with four world and seven European titles and six world records, three (3) of which are better than those of the male competitors).
